DESCRIPTION:The Sandman Triathlon is one of Santa Cruz County’s oldest triathlons\, having held its inaugural race in 1985\, in the infancy of the sport. The Sandman is a fundraiser for: the local State Parks\, Lifeguard operations\, the Junior Lifeguard program. Proceeds help fund scholarships for underprivileged kids so they can receive high-quality water safety education. The Sandman Triathlon is a USAT-sanctioned event.
