We aim to promote healthy lifestyles, spread environmental consciousness, and create a memorable running experience for all participants. The Past and the Future - the Vrukshathon Nursery: The Vrukshathon Half Marathon was inaugurated on 10th June 2018 by Fitness First India, marking the beginning of a significant movement towards environmental consciousness combined with fitness. By preparing athletes for national and international competitions through Fitness First, the event also serves as a platform for broader exposure, further embedding the critical message of coexistence with nature into the fabric of the community. In its debut year, the event saw 20000 participants each receive a tree sapling, symbolising a commitment to the environment. Those who demonstrated the sapling’s growth were rewarded with free registration for the following year, reflecting the event's dedication to long-term ecological impact. Recognising that not all participants may have the space to plant their gifted tree sapling, the Pune Forest Department is offering a commendable solution by allocating a land in the city to create the ‘Vrukshathon Nursery’, where your tree will be planted and cared for. This initiative allows every runner's tree to flourish, symbolising their commitment to both their health and the environment.
